RESIDENTIAL DESIGN
process
CLIENT PROFILE: The Gull family is looking to settle down into a home that will provide for the entire family for generations to come. Stella is a textile designer who loves taking long walks in the morning to start her day. She enjoys peace amidst nature and enjoys the views that Bellevue provides. Her husband Luke is a software developer who spends much of his day at his desk but enjoys cooking and working in the garden in his free time. Their two girls, Eliza and Lynn both enjoy painting, reading and learning about plants and animals in their homeschooled virtual nature club. They have a poodle named Dingo and enjoy family game nights and spending time with their grandmother who comes to visit regularly. They enjoy quality over quantity and practice the mindset of minimalism when it comes to their interior spaces. The family prefers warmer color palettes and clean geometric forms.
CONCEPT STATEMENT: The Gull family’s home will echo the serene essence of Japanese minimalism, creating a sanctuary that balances both personal wellness and family unity. Nestled in Bellevue, Washington, their residence will draw inspiration from the natural surroundings, providing a peaceful retreat that reflects the family’s love for nature, creativity, and sustainability.
This project was an exciting yet challenging endeavor for me, as it was the first independent project I completed in Revit versus Autocad.
